???? F/5.6 is a tripod speed? I shoot handheld at smaller apertures than that. Herb Ritts was one of the first to use this type of camera for handheld fashion work. It would be a waste to use this on a tripod.

Hey, you don't live in the North West. Sunny days (when we get them) I can stop it down or when we have light overcast. I usually attach a flash so I can stop it down then too. Works great on a tripod though.

No doubt. I would need at least f8 for a shutter speed before I'd handhold it.

Yes, wide open (hand held) can be a bit sketchy unless you have it dead nuts on.

The fog is a little thick in here so I'll turn on the lighthouse and sound the fog horn to guide your ship from total destruction on the barren reef.

Both my and Yamanobori's posts point out that aperture alone tells us nothing about shutter speed or your minimum shutter speed before you reach for a tripod. f5.6 is meaningless since we don't know the film's ISO or what the light conditions are to asses a shutter speed that you inadvertently called it f5.6.

I can hand hold shots at f/16 sometimes... But that doesn't tell me what the shutter speed was, or the ISO :P

You got me I could probably get away with shooting down to 30th or 15th of a second if I held my breath, otherwise I don't seem to get as good of results.

The point of these 4x5 Polaroid camera conversions is to have a handholdable large-format camera. And much better than the Speed and Crown Graphics. I was so tempted to convert my father's old Polaroid, but I just find sheet film too slow, although a 6x12 back on one of these puppies might be very interesting.
