At the weekend the autofocus motor stopped working on my FA 33 - 55 so bought a FA 35 f/3.5 from Ffordes to replace it. Ironically I sold a brand new one of these to get the zoom. So I put it through its paces with Caesar in the back garden

Back up the mountain behind my house in South Wales yesterday evening just before during and after sunset.

Recuperating from contracting cellulitis from a flying ant bite while taking the photographs of Swansea Bay, I've returned to the Lake District before I make another trip to Asia. Took a gentle stroll down Great Langdale with my Pentax around my neck.

Weather is very mixed here in the Lake District, with a small tornado making its way across Lake Windermere yesterday (30 minutes after it had turned over a 2 ton muck spreader 70 miles south in Bolton). It started off wet today but dried out quite nicely later in the day. I make note of the weather forecast here, but resign to the fact that the weather can do anything around mountains valleys and lakes so take each day as it comes.

The view while having a coffee at Waterhead, Ambleside with the rain pouring down:

This is actually a pool formed by the widening river Brathay which comes from the lake Elterwater. The old name for Elterwater is Eltermere which is old Norse for... Swan Lake.

I hope I am not boring you with another photo from this canyon it is only 20 minutes away and I am relatively new at landscape photography. I normally shoot wildlife and birds.

I know some of these guys are really hard to compete with, but it looks like a good start to me.
