Thanks for the input, I like the B&W more also. I like both aspen images, but slightly prefer the horizontal.

In Utah, the intensity of reds in our mix of fall colors, never seem to match New England reds but this year at the higher elevations in Zion National Park, the reds have been intense. Here is a multi-frame stitch, shot with 645D and 35mm, shot vertically. The location was the West Rim Trail, descending into Potato Valley. The elevation is approximately 6,000 + feet. It's a great hike but if done as a day hike from Lava Point to the West Rim Overlook and return, it's about a 17 mile day. The fall colors are now starting in the main Zion canyon at about 4500 feet.

The fall colors in western NY have become quite intense recently. Here's an example with no saturation adjustment in PS. The magenta vine is Virginia Creeper.

Pentax 645D, 35mm A, ISO 400, f/16, 1/500 sec. The final image is a result of "focus bracketing" -two images blended to obtain the DOF I was hoping for, but could not capture in a single exposure, even at f/22.

You folk in the eastern U.S. are so lucky. Here on the Pacific NW Coast we get almost zero fall color. Our trees tend toward dull, brownish yellow with vine maple and huckleberry being the outstanding exceptions on the red end of things.

Well we are lucky in some ways, but you have the Cascades, the Olympic peninsula, Vancouver Island, Eastern Washington, the Pacific Ocean shoreline - need I go on?
