I don't remember the exposure time. I shot this while waiting for it to get darker and do a longer exposure. But I liked this one better. I used the Sun Surveyor App on my phone to line up the camera and find the Celestial Pole since it was too bright out to see the North Star when I set up. It's an app for photographers too. It has an azimuth/altitude spherical overlay in the phone's camera for a live view. It came in handy.

Very cool.

+1 on the cloud - great timing.

I have to spend more time in here. Been through the whole thread now, and back to a few spots several times. Loving the film imagery - from both the film systems.

Thanks! Yeah - f/11. It is a crop, and I needed a bit more DOF but ran out of shutter speed (no tripod with me). Still getting used to the differences with this new system.

Nice website - I think the Spirit of San Francisco gallery is my favorite. Beautiful city, you capture it wonderfully. Love the work in the Inspiring Places and Black and White galleries as well.

The first one is wild. Wonderful detail. Nice colors throughout. Love the flow of the last one.

Simply beautiful. Love the Southwest photos you've posted here and on your website.
Thanks for your comments!

Wow, you got that close. I'd be afraid the mother would be around to kick my butt.

Strangely the mother "hid" this one in my presence and then went off for some early evening snacks. Maybe she could tell I was a good guy...........

Good thing. I can't help but think a video where a deer with its baby wondered into a residential area. First a dog came out and in a matter of seconds was pounded on really bad and looked like it needed serious medical care. Then a cat takes swipe at the deer. Fortunately for the cat it was fast enough to get away before taking another hit.

Lovely shots Tuco - you really nailed the focus on the eyes, and I love the ruggedness of the contrast. It really suits the subjects. Did you need to do much in post to get that effect?

I've not posted anything for a while, but I recently swapped my choice of development labs for colour and slide to AG Photographic here in the UK - I sent 5 (mixed) rolls off to them last Monday and got them back on Friday. No colour shifts, with beautifully clean and scratch free negs. I got the MF rolls scanned in over the weekend.

Pentax 645, 75mm, Velvia 50 (5 years OOD, so exposed at iso 40)

Thanks. Not much post processing to bring out the roughness. Adjusting contrast and clarity does it.

Shooting up some expired Tri-X Pan Professional I've had stashed at the bottom of the freezer. It expired in the year 2000. The base fog looked to be much more than normal. But it's good to work with some cubic grain film for a change.

Both Pentax 6x7, 105/2.4 + #1 Extension Tube, TXP 6049, T-Max Dev
Great portraits! +1 on nailing the focus, with the f/2.4 and extension tube the depth of field in those photos is crazy thin.

Thanks. As the picture taker, I may like the roughness, but I find the subjects don't. I did one of a woman too. I had to apply a soft filter in post. She would have not like the raw one at all.

I passed through the Palouse area on my way to Montana and took a few shots at the end of June. On my way back, I again passed through looking for more shots. In that short time, the green hills were already changing to brown fast. I call this one my Van Gogh Imatation

Yeah good point. As the photographer we look for that ruggedness, character, depth......unfortunately the subject often sees age, imperfections, and wrinkles. I like being behind the camera, but give my appreciation to those who don't mind being in front of it.

There are some pretty stark changes in terms of the landscape from season to season, but that just makes me want to go back and capture it in a different way. Spring was a great intro with all of the greens that your see/read about, but every season seems to have it's own personality.....I hope to have snow on my next visit.

I like your Van Gogh Imatation...very abstract. It wouldn't have been the same photo at all if the fields were pure green. Long focal length, great choice.

Today I was driving around and trying to find some images for my client. This one came out really nice!

Shot with Pentax 645d and 35mm lens. The image looks here a little soft, sorry for that.
