Some film on film action....Photo of my Pentax LX w/ viewfinder. Shot with my Hasselblad 500cm w/ viewfinder.
A LX with a WLF is kind of perking up my interest in such a rig.

Not to sound fawning, Tuco, but you really do epitomize the great attributes of a photographer. I see this star trails image, and I remember your terrific images from the bike-mounted 6x7, and I'm reminded of how fun and creativity-spurring photography was to me when I was a kid. The difference between you and the rest of us, though, is that you've retained that spirit through the years, and you've really embellished it with your skill.

You really inspire me.
You're not the only one who's told me I need to grow up. Seriously though, thanks so much. I, like many others here no doubt, really enjoy shooting these legacy cameras to see what you can get from them.

Nice work Alan!

I had a wedding shoot some time ago and I had my K-5 + FA limiteds and Pentax 6x7 with me. The K-5 shots came out ok, (although I had to do a lot of work post processing to get the colours right!) but the real treat was the shots from the 6x7. Here´s a few of my favourites (crossposted from the B&W thread):

Pentax 6x7 + 105/2.4 TMAX 400

Is your EI two stops below box speed because of the developer or are you compressing highlights with a shorter development time?

Just experimenting really - idea being to get a lower contrast neg that has more potential in digital post-processing...

Embarrassed to say I have my films developed commercially, just with 'pull 2 stops' on the instructions! I have just e-mailed them asking about their developer.

I see. If the negatives look good density-wise, then the lab did a good job. If the negatives have that dense, over-exposed look, it's likely they could have used a normal development time I would suspect.

Something to consider when you over expose and under develop that two stops is the contrast of the scene. When the range of light in the scene is well within the range of the film for normal exposure/development, you can jeopardize some highlight detail because you compressed the tone range there. Factors such as how far the middle gray exposure is from the highlights weight in too.

Negs look good to me - and they even managed to get RR400 to stay completely flat.

They told me it was developed in Fuji Negastar in a short-leader processor. Results look nice to my eyes anyway!

I took this shot at a park in lower NW Portland with my Hasselblad 500cm and 80mm C T* lens. Looking down into a waist level viewfinder can be inconspicuous as Im not sure some people know that I am lining up a photo. I watched this girl move around for a bit until she "posed" for me. She might have been a bit curious as to what I was doing, but she knew the score once that loud Hass shutter tripped....at least the photo had already been taken
