Ha ha!

See the hatched area at the bottom centre? It leads up to the traffic island I was on. The tripod was set up with the lit bollard under the centre column, as I was outside the railed area of the island.

That's pretty much what I figured. I noticed the striped area, and guessed you had a safe spot to set up.
