Mike, you cant abuse that pony like that, you need a SUV, gee pick yourself up a used Toyota, or Nissan truck, you know kinda a beater.
What will one day be my most expensive photography purchase: Sportsmobile 4x4

But not in black. Seriously, check out some of the floor plan layouts & etc. Very GAS inducing.

only two reasons, otherwise it woulda stayed down as usual:

1) massive amount of airborne debris and dust from this dried up wheatfield and dusty trail
2) I left the car unattended to hike along the railroad tracks well out of sight of the car. Not sure who or what lives in this back country..

here's the regular view:

As a landscape photographer, I have come to realize my choice of car is impractical...I have taken it on beaches, over some punishing rocks that beat up the undercarriage, have driven through a trail surrounded by branches so dense, they scratched the paint on both side panels as well as the hood and tore my antenna clean off. I've gotten myself stuck in the mud a few times and had to be winched out. I've bent all four rims hitting bumps in the road, i even smacked into a 6-ft aluminum ladder that fell off a truck in front of me on the freeway at full speed, and I drove over it.
Mike, a lift kit might help that beater of yours … perhaps 5" or more.

Replace the pretty Mustang for one of those International Scouts or old squared off Landcruisers. You can look the part and have the cash for a new Z and that sweet 28-45 zoom if you sell the D.
ha, i know that would make sense, but I only shoot photos on weekends, so cannot really justify it,

this looks amazing, but incredibly expensive and my photography is only a weekend hobby if that.

Building clouds from a summer storm cell in the Cypress Hills, earlier this summer. Two donkeys were ambling along in the lower left corner, coming down to shelter before the system hit. I guess they were smarter than me; awhile later, I got a minor pelting with rain and small hail trying to shoot another angle of the storm. 645Z and FA 645 45-85mm f/4.5.

one of the reasons I'm thinking about finding some dirt there next summer, Royce. I feel very motivated there.

Last week I finally developed most of my backlog of B&W film and today I've been scanning. Here are a couple of shots I like on T-Max 100, taken with my Pentax 645 and 75mm f/2.8 (wide open, of course).

I think I must have used my ND4 filter as it was very bright (as it usually is in Spain).

And a colored filter, perhaps?
