Nice shot.

What did you use for lighting? Looks like a nice off camera flash exposure to me.

Thnx,

Susan
susanb , thank you, I used an Elinchrom Quadra with a 27" Rotolux softbox that was held by her mom.

Keeping the ISO low is something I simply like to do...
The model, pose and heavy front lighting with little ambient balance gives it that 1960's Hawaiian post card look and feel.

Very nice ! The colors are absolutely perfect

How much did you over exposed it ?
I set the iso 1 stop lower and +1EV on the camera, and use center weighted AE, shoot in Av mode.
then I usually check the shutter speed in view finder and move around and see how much they change...then select one with AE lock, which annoy my wife considerably as it she has no idea what I am doing pointing the camera everywhere...

Beautiful shot!

I see Maryland plates! I'm a Marylander. Would you mind telling me about where that was taken?

I'd be interested in the rationale for that configuration?

Erm....yes, as a matter of fact so would I. Does the 67II only have one stop of EV compensation?

ha! it was taken just outside our townhouse - this is a truck left by construction company on a lot they are not yet working on. But I haven't seen it move a bit for like all year now. It's in Market Square Frederick. I wanted to take more pics of it (it has a "out in the west" feel, for me) but my lady refuse to do things like climbing on top of it...
I have also seen many nice old vehicles along RT15 north of Frederick, just never a found a right time to shoot some with them....

The 67II has +/-3 EV compensation, the reason is I want to maintain at least 1 stop overexpose for Portra 400 hence set the iso to 200, and depending on the scene, I use the EV compensation to select whether to +1EV or not at all. EV compensation dial is quicker to adjust than the iso dial. hope this make sense?

But as member of PF has demonstrated, Portra 400 is so versatile that this is not needed... maybe is just my bad habit.

I see. Yes, it is hard to overexpose Portra 400 by one stop. It has huge latitude. It shoots with less grain in the shadows at EI200 then at box speed and the exposure is good. And you can go EI800 with no problem either except for slightly more grain in the shadows I've found in my test of it.

This cliché shot of Seattle's skyline on the New Portra 400 was my first time using it and I bracketed up and down a stop to make sure. And I couldn't tell which one was better exposed. They all seemed about the same.
