Great light!!!

I'd keep the shoreline but I do wish it was head on so that there wasn't an angle to it, can you rotate the image anti clockwise slightly or just transform the foreground a bit? Great layering.

Hi Tom,

........... did a free transform in photoshop to stretch the sky, and then blended that layer with a simple mask to the original. It worked nicely and was just the nudge that photo needed. .....

Love this image. I lean towards a slight crop, maybe cropping just above the light dark transition, or just below it. Seems like it would match the mood and the horizon. Is this for sale?

I sent you a pm; however, now that I've followed the excellent advice to straighten the shoreline, I realize that this image reminds me somewhat of Rhine II and so the price is around 4 million, depending on the size.

It instantly reminded me of Rhein II, the second I saw it. I love Rhein II.

I very much prefer the original, in all ways! The increased vibrance is really taking away from the subtlety of the original, imo.

Here's the photo I referenced earlier. Its interesting to me in that I've always tried to maintain sharpness throughout a photograph and would reject anything that fell short of that goal. With this photo, only the background - primarily the horizon is sharp. This is a 20 second exposure at f/11 with the Pentax 25mm at dusk. Small waves were coming in and tumbling the sand and pebbles back and forth and created a small rip current. The foreground is not sharp because of that movement, but I like it. Perhaps I'm growing as a photographer - or compromising as I get older? Anyway, its not a Rhine, but it is Superior.

I like it too and to me this has a mystical, almost religious aspect. I think it's growth; everything sharp is a technical achievement, not necessarily artistic.

My first bit of shooting since before Christmas. the weather has either been evilly bad or too good with no clouds whatsoever.

As I was shooting as the tide was receding, I brought along some hard plastic plates to put my tripod on to stop the tripod sinking in the sand....quite effective

My favorite is the second image because I love the movement of the water, colors and composition. I feel like I'm there as the water swirls over the sand.
