Something a bit different .This is my lovely Sister and good friend Marto. They are expecting their first baby to show up any day now. To say I’m proud of these guys is an understatement. Soon there will be 5 in that little house, & I will be an uncle!
I tried a more stylised approach to this portrait combining commercial and landscape processing techniques. No strobes or lights, 15 shots went into the final image.

Some from fairly local to me - intended to get to a WWII lookout, but need to get my act together and get out of the house earlier. These are from a 900 year old ruin, formerly part of the Cistercian monastery at Margam in South Wales:

Thanks Mike. The first one was actually an error shot, I was in bulb with MLU and hadn't heard the shutter release so I pressed the release on the remote again. I rarely delete these out in the field - It was about 3 stops underexposed and managed to recover that without any noticeable sacrifice in IQ. Still detail even in the deep shadows. A good alternative to the long exposures. Weather forecast for tomorrow is horrific with 100mph winds forecast but Saturday is looking good, so looking at going up to the lookouts then to scout and shoot.

I decided to go shoot a few seascapes late in the afternoon, and whilst in the process I found these guys hanging on for dear life as the tide was on the rise..and quick. Whilst set up getting this shot, I lost a thong and had a crab take refuge under my camera bag. The thong floated back to me and the crab didn't try to steal any lenses.. so it was a good afternoon.

Mike, I'm going to spare you some angst. In Australia, a thong is a flip-flop. I lived there for four years and was constantly falling into language traps, like "what team do you root for". Well, rooting has a different meaning too (lol)
