Smoke competes with the full moon for space:

645Z FA 400 f/5.6

And this is where the smoke is coming from, both taken from my home's roof...

Wow, love those.

How big is that lens? About what weight? Sure is nice.

Some more from NZ:

Lake Pukaki

Lake Manapouri

I used the Lee landscape polariser with this and it had the effect of adding a little bit of Velvia feel to it:

I think this helped it work really well for B/W and I spent some time trying out different film types and filters in Silver Efex. In the end I settled on a green filter and the Ilford Pan 50

I love the almost 3d effect of Lake Pukaki. Beautiful.

Nothing like having your human back home, he's a happy dog.

It's BIG! and heavy. It's also a very good lens. If I can only carry one lens, this is it.

Interesting shots. Which len/s were used? There's quite a lot of purple fringing in several of them.

A 20 minute exposure at Mumbles. The colours looked all wrong initially, so used the dropper on the lighthouse to get correct white balance and it came up with 30,000! It looked much better so stuck with that...

That's a really interesting, different and beautiful image. I'm not sure what you mean by 30,000 though.

30,000 level of white balance I assume. As opposed to say 5,500 for normal daylight unfiltered exposure. I may be wrong though.

Colour temperature is measured in Kelvin....

Correct. I suspect the ultra long exposure threw the white balance out as it was a little while after sunset, so the white balance was constantly changing...

Great shot but more graphic art than hi res representation. That is not a criticism, more of a form observation. I tend to find the abilities of the Z, and to a degree the D, lend themselves to actuality with an extra spice. I really like the image, but can't help but wonder what else could be drawn from it. Just so you know it is not a style issue this is the first of your images that have made me think this. Hope it isn't a taken as needless criticism.

no worries. i appreciate your comment and as I have fallen into my own style, criticism never bothers me. Indeed, we were there a little late so i probably raised the sky value a bit. And as mentioned, recovered the brightest highlights with a lum mask. Other than that, it isn't far from the SOOC, which is attached here:
