Following on from the attractive young lady above. My friend was fishing in Loch Awe for Ferox Trout and caught one right in front of my house. He called me to see if I could take some pictures of it so I rushed down with the Z and the 90mm and took a few quick shots before the fish was tagged and returned to perpetuate the species.

@unkipunki I think he is the same as this fine chap. And no, I can't keep up when he moves!

Caught one of my first sunsets/landscapes with the 645Z. This is a dangerous camera to use!

OOOHHH! You didn't even need a WA lens to make that fish look bigger!!! In fact, you used something longer than "normal". Nice shots in the heat of the moment (non-anglers will not realize how fast you had to move, but I do), but tell your friend I am green with envy. That's as large as some of the salmon I caught in Russia, or the sea-run browns I caught in Argentina---even the Pacific Salmon I caught in Alaska. Really marvelous fish. I'll show my fishing guide brother tomorrow (He has his own TV show....). He'll dig it.

@cclaughlan He's actually a Cocker Spaniel in the making. But the keeping up will be just as difficult as it is with your fine chap I expect.

@texandrews Thanks, and yes speed was very much of the essence in these shots. This fish was in early season condition having spawned and over wintered. On top of that we have had a very cold spring and the Loch water temperatures are at a record low for this time of year. This fish was some 5lbs light off peak condition for length. It was actually a mere 17lb. My friend in the image has previously caught several fish over 25lb including one at 31lb 5oz. The British Record stands at 31lb 12oz (also caught here on Loch Awe). I really wish I had had a 645 z and 90mm present when that was caught!!

@kain That's a very good first landscape capture wit the Z. I have the 55 SDM and it is indeed a faster focusing lens. That's not too surprising as it isn't a macro. For tracking active puppies it has one drawback that you correctly identified; you have to be closer. If I am closer I find the puppy thinks the camera is an offering. Every time I get close they come running straight to me. So I think that from the current line up the FA 645 150mm 2.8 IF might be the only viable option. I do not have any information on how fast it achieves focus with the Z though. I may need to a start another thread to ask this question.

Wonderful shots. That first waterfall looks so real.

I really love the CCD of the 645D, there's something about the color and quality that is different from the Z, as much as I love the Z.

Number 3 is great - from Te Mata peak looking out towards Hawkes Bay with Craggy Range winery in the valley foreground?!....I stood in exactly the same spot last year and got a panorama but sadly not with the Z which I bought later...too many good images to be had in NZ aren't there...everywhere you look !
