Indeed there are. I spent more than two weeks there last year, and a week there this year and haven't scratched the surface. It's a place every photographer should put on their bucket list. Fiordland had me literally swearing at the beauty of it all...

Going to have to get some SFX200. Love this (and tsiklonaut's SFX200 shots on Flickr).

Find the big old 67ii addictive to shoot, even if it's just snapshots in the garden:

Pentax 67ii
Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6x7 105mm f/2.4
1/500th at f/4
Ilford FP4 Plus
Epson 4870 scan

Went out with just the 645Z, one prime lens and all my Lee Filters this evening, down to one of my regular haunts. Had some pasta and ice cream at a good italian cafe while I waited for the light. The prime lens? It was the FA 45 f/2.8 which doesn't get a lot of love on here, basically because the FA 45 - 85 is so good. But it is a good, if not stellar lens. I think the digital world bothers itself too much with 'tack' sharpness.

The tide moves so fast - the Bristol Channel has the 2nd largest tidal range in the world, and it's easy to be caught out. At this location, it's safer to walk the tide out than the other way in. The tide moved 200m in less than 15 minutes, so there isn't long to set up. You have to stay mobile...

3. The white balance is very different as I shot the pier shots before these...

Very cool image and scene here. You can remove haze in photoshop though a levels adjustment. Plearn.com did a tutorial on it a while back. Its great!

Just to demonstrate the fact that the Bristol Channel has the 2nd largest tidal range in the world, these two shots were taken 7 minutes apart. The tide was heading out. It comes in just as quickly...

It was up at the dark mark on the rock only 35/40 mins before. That's why they tell you not to cross to the islands!

Nice shots! I've been to Cardiff a few times, once or twice before they put up the barrier to keep the harbor full at low tide, and I remember being struck by just how extreme the tides were.

The brick house is 2 shots stitched, and the river/stream one is 4 shots stitched.

Rez is just silly on the full size files. web doesn't do it justice but what the heck.

Both with 55mm at f/16 on 645z.

The haze reduction feature has been talked about here over the last few days. My PSCC updated earlier and this feature is now in ACR 9.1

Before - with only a few minor adjustments in LRCC

after with some adjustment layers and haze reduction

If you go overboard with it, it makes things quite dark, but used carefully it might prove very useful...
