Dawn this morning at Castlerigg - yes the light was very blue this morning - Lightroom Auto WB wanted to neutralise it, but this is pretty much how the cloud was lit - was about 30 mins before sunrise

I like your first one, although I would have included the girl's full left knee! Her head has a slightly disembodied look due to the DOF, however I like the effect.

Mike, as a fellow 645D owner, thank you for consistently impressing with your shots in the face of multiple 645Z onslaughts (!), giving me hope that I can also get good colour in time from my 645D images.

I will eventually upgrade to the Z since it is a more modern camera, but rest assured the 645D is not lacking in color rendering. Moreover, now is a great time for FF waiters and canikon refugees to upgrade to medium format, as 645D prices are lower than ever before.

Two from my first roll ever through a Pentax 6x7 recently purchased. I'm not sure the shallow DoF worked in the beach scene, that is I'm not sure I got any of it in crisp focus! The shot of the 'pigface' native succulent was interesting; when I examined the scan there appeared to be a distinct line or edge in the purple flower. I'm attributing that to a scanning artefact.

Fuji Reala 100 colour negative film. 105 f2.4 lens (the last SMC version). Commercially developed and home-scanned using Epson V700 Photo.

I'm not sure what f-stop you used but I've found with the 6x7 I have to use one stop stop down from what I would with 35mm due to the dof problem you experienced. In other words, If I were going to shoot with 35mm and f5.6 I'd use f8 with the 6x7...more shallow dof regardless the lens chosen. At least that's my experience.

May I ask what RAW processor you use?

I am concluding that Phase One's lack of support to its serious competitors (P645D/Z and Leica S systems) means I will have to bite the bullet and start learning LR processing, as opposed to merely playing with it as an adjunct to my C1 Pro approach.

Thanks Col - I was probably shooting it close to wide-open in fact! I was after a very shallow DOF look, however when I examined the scan I just wasn't convinced that I had achieved a very distinct focal plane, however shallow. There was quite a wind blowing and so it could be due to camera shake. I would have used the MLU in any case.
