Thanks mate - appreciated! I don't feel like I have nailed that shot yet (want to get it with some mist in the distance), but am encouraged by the results so far!

One of only a few streams in the greater Las Vegas valley that isn't dependent on someone's broken sprinkler pipe, Pine Creek. This will be dry soon but it runs for a little while each year when snow melts in the far away mountains.

And the A 35mm getting all up in some Buckhorn Cholla cactus.

300 Takumar

There has been some discussion about the 6x7 300mm and 300EDIF. I posted the cross section for the EDIF and thought I'd post the older version as well.

Bowl photos

I have too many hobbies and not enough time to pursue them. I am a lifelong woodworker among other things and like to turn wooden bowls.
I turned this Locust bowl back in January and have not had a chance to photograph it, Rainy slow work day so time has come.
Pentax 645d, 35mm mostly f8 and 30th second on tripod with two side lights.

While I recover from a bad bout with sciatica the only exercise I've been getting is walks along the Columbia River. On the positive I can carry a camera
These were taken with the 645z and FA 400mm, all hand-held. Birds in flight proved a challenge and the keeper rate was poor, but it was fun trying.
