Many thanks for the feedback chaps. Interesting! My instinct is to favour the one without the trails to achieve a cleaner effect, but there it is! I'll take the feedback on board.

FWIW, trails are gilding the lily.

Ed - I like the versions without trails, both for your latest post, and the one before.

Tom - beautiful studio shots.

Some Portra 160 scans I received yesterday. For Aussies who may still be shooting film the Kent Street Studio in Sydney (probably ex Foto Riesel) does an excellent and good value job (I have no association with them).

All taken with the new-to-me P67 II ( I previously had a P6x7) and a variety of lenses.

105 f2.4 SMC lens at f13

75 f4.5 SMC lens, aperture unknown

55 f4 SMC lens @ f5.6

'The old and the young', 75 f4.5 SMC

Good shots!

Especially love the subject isolation of the last one.

Thank you Rob - that's the intrinsic beauty of MF isn't it (and the reason that makes me invest in such a relatively expensive and bulky system)?

SMC-A 75mm shot @ f2.8, Ilford HP5+, developed in DD-X. First roll out of my "new" 645 :-)

This is one of the finest examples of controlled DOF I've seen recently.

Indeed! I keep looking at the 75mm f/2.8 AL, but it's still pretty pricey. The f/4.5 is much more affordable though...

Field Laborers
645Z & 67 M*300/4 & 67 1.4x TC

As a teenager living in Oregon my summers were spent working in fields picking strawberries, cucumbers, cherries, and green beans. Back then the green beans were grown using poles, wires and string, and had to be harvested by hand. The bush beans like in your photo were developed to be harvested by machines to cut costs and reduce harvest to cannery time.

So it seems odd that these laborers are picking them by hand.

Guess the machine harvest didn't turn out so well.
