Matt - love it, as usual!

---------- Post added 07-19-16 at 01:15 PM ----------

645Z plus 25mm f4 DA lens. Sky is ISO 6400 @ f4 for 20 secs; foreground is ISO 800 @ f11 for 8 mins (stitching various frames for the pano in each case).

My stopwatch died while doing the foreground exposures of 8 mins, so some of these frames required counting in my head!

We camped this weekend, only 6 Miles from home to escape the carnival in the neighborhood. I didn't take a MF camera over there but I took the D with me camping.
You made a great choice there. I don't much like to be around noise and crowds for very long either. No mountains where I live but if I could get away I'd make the same choice even without a MF digital.

An impromptu opportunity arose to take some shots of a neighbour water-skiing today. I only had the DFA 90mm with me but as the subject was at the end of a fixed length rope the focus speed was not too much of an issue. Not too a shabby a combination for this sort of sports/action photography as it turns out.

Pentax 645n, 120mm/f4, XP2 @200, Rodinal 1+100, Hasselblad X1 scan:

I think I will try the next roll at ISO 320, as these all seemed to be 1/2 to 1 stop overexposed.

At a minimum, the 645n is 15 years old, and there are no spare parts available for repairs any more, and having renewed my love affair with Pentax medium format lenses, I have been thinking long and hard about a 645z, but today I came to a decision—get a 645nii from eBay so that even if my 645n dies I have a replacement.
