Contrast looks flat. Try some PP. Cheers

Looks like a productive weekend Mike!

I caught sunrise at a nearby recreation area this morning. Lots of smoke around lately but it makes for nice soft light.
645D & 67 300/4

Matt, I really like the atmosphere and quality of light with these, especially the second one. Smoke from wildfires? Often just part of nature there to capture in a photo - your were in the right place to see it. Well done.

Thanks!
Yes, the smoke is from wildfires. I'm not even sure where they are right now but somewhere west since that is the direction the wind usually blows. The forests in Colorado are particularly susceptible to fire right now because there are lots of dead trees as the result of the invasive asian bark beetle.

Thank you for the flowers. Thats one of my first self scanned picture (Scanner Epson Perfection V850 Pro). Just a few corners where I live (Zurich) is a "one women show" for developing my films (120). She do ONLY black and white!

Here is a try with my today bought P-645D (second hand) and the 5.6/55-110mm lens

San-Bernardino-Pass, 2066M asl

War at 2106M asl (San Gottardo)

There aren't any mountains for hundreds of miles around here nor forests to burn but I often saw this type of hazy soft light at sunset growing up on the west side of Windsor, Ontario. Looking to the west from the Detroit River in the evening one peered through the industrial haze of Zug Island industry and the Rouge complex. Somewhere I have old slides of a red sun in soft orange descending over the factories but I like your local view better Matt. No wonder I always prefer the clean and bright magenta hues of sunrise looking east over Essex county instead.

Ha! I grew up in Ann Arbor so I know exactly what you are talking about. Yes, it is much nicer here, smoke or not!

Hello MattB 80-160 ;-)

I don't think above pic is ooC, isn't it?

What do you use for software and what are the settings for above pic?

I think 645z is the best DSLR for astrophotography on earth. These are what I got last weekend.
