Thanks a lot, Mike! I like your bridge as well. I like industrial stuff. I wished I had something wider then 35mm for the Z. But i find almost € 5.000,- for the 28-45 far to much.

I feel the same way!
I do have alerts set up on eBay for the 25 and 28-45 just in case one comes up cheap when I'm feeling flush (when the stars are aligned).
I'm not feeling flush right now and I did get an alert about this 25mm going up at a little better price than I have seen. Hopefully the downward trend will continue!

itshimitis - you are making me homesick. Family holidays in the western highlands (usually based in Oban); five years of university in Glasgow; cycling and Munro-bagging for weeks on end. I miss it all!

I presume you went to The Kings House?
I spent last night in Oban. Regent Hotel has seen better days could be a real proper luxury boutique hotel but seems firmly set with the coach trip/turkey and tinsel set up.

I stayed at Bridge of Orchy Hotel. Kings House is shut for refurbishment. I've wild camped there before...

Anyway some from today - have just driven the 550 miles home from Oban.

All with the Z

28 - 45: Loch Creran where my oysters came from last night:

45 - 85 - Could have done this one tighter and with a slower shutter speed, but was playing it safe. Oban's little airport is very accessible...shot this over a chest high gate.

Kilchurn Castle and Loch Awe while on my way back home...picked the perfect time. Parked in Loch Awe station car park and crossed the other side of the tracks over the bridge just as the sun shone through a gap in the clouds, very fortuitous...

FA 80 - 160

and a pano with the 80 - 160 - pity the loch was being disturbed by a boat at the time...just got this one in as the sun was disappearing...

Lovely set and great looking countryside!

I've been shooting my K-1 quite a bit but got the D out a few nights ago for some magic light.

Buachaille Etive Mòr has been my favourite mountain for some time, and I was blessed to find it with such good conditions over the last week.

I can see why! Beautiful photo with such nice light. Does it get climbed much? I bet the view is pretty good from up there...

WOW! I can feel the glow even at web-size. That needs to be printed HUGE on transparency/glass and the backlit by giant lightbox.

Did you use a polarizer to enhance the reflections or did you brighten them in post?

Yes it does. It's a lot easier than it looks from ishimitis' photographic viewpoint. However it is famed for winter climbing and has taken a few quite experienced climber's lives over time.

no filter and very little processing. It is pretty much SOOC. The colors were raging.
I was standing ankle deep in cold mucky water and being eaten alive by mosquitoes.

One must suffer for one's art. But Mike, for you it paid off BIG time!

Thanks for the explanation.

It sounds like you have a double case of landscape photographer's itch -- the itch to go out there and the itch from having gone out there.

It's a vicious circle!
