I'm dying for some good wide open pics from the FA 400/5.6 - I'm not sure whether to get that lens for my 645Z or just go for a more modern 400mm on my Sony body - somebody please convince me the Pentax 645 long tele is the way to go
I've used the 400mm on the z a lot in wildlife photography, is a fantastic lens. My other goto long lens is the 150-300 zoom. I use both lenses mostly without a tripod, just free hold, point at the action and shoot. On a tripod the sharpness increases substantially.
Just got the A* 600mm, and are very impressed with initial testing. Although a tripod on this one is a must for me, it is simply to heavy to hand hold. However the jury is still out on the 600mm.
