The second scene in B&W, your #4, is my favourite. I think the composition is far more effective in the strong B&W rendering you have given it. It's just nice in colour but the contrast between foreground, middle, and background really separate in beautiful contrast with a full range of near black to bright white. Well done itshimitis. Please show us more B&W.

645D lenses on K-1 and 645D

Getting better photos on K-1 than on 645D with 645 lenses! ??

I am using 645-A lenses and a cheap imported adapter on my K-1, mainly the Pentax-A 645 120mm f 4.0 macro. Then I am using the Pentax-FA 645 120mm macro on the Pentax 645D. Focussing is the only variable that I am able to identify as different. I always use manual focus on macro shots, so do not actually use the AF capabilities of the 120mm/FA, and the 120mm/A has a better focussing ring than the FA. However, color and rendering even looks better on the K-1. I am thinking that the Pentax-A 120mm f 4.0 is one of the best lenses I have ever encountered in any format.

Comments and thoughts including your own experience will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have either but the sensor in the K1 is significantly more modern in design than that of the 645D.

This camera doesn't have a bulb mode. Only a T-Mode. And I assumed how it worked. Come to find out during the show it doesn't close with a second press. In a panic I found the if you advance the film it closes. But I guess you need to cover the lens first as seen in the horizontal streaks. Go figure.

Hey Matt,

What program do you use to process your shots? Whenever I see your photos it reminds me just how capable the 645D is and that I probably don't need a 645Z. I'd be interested in hearing if you've ever considered 'upgrading' to a 645Z?

For those that don't live in California, this is what a lot of coastal California looks like in the foothills, inland from the Pacific Ocean.
