If there was a "no photography" policy (unlikely for an old ship) they would have been all over him. "no tripods" is more of a tripping hazard (liability) / impeding access for others thing.

New batch

I think my lens might be a bit yellow. I mean, yellow enough to affect colours, though it could just be this high-latitude winter light. The Sun is always low in the south and quite harsh even at midday. Could also be the scans. What do you folks think?

Overall not, in any case easily corrected to your taste in pp. Your computer display may be the cause of a perceived color cast, check the images on others.

.....
I agree that this is unlikely to be related to your lens but rather a matter of post processing to get the 'look' you are after. The only one that appears to have a definite warm/yellow cast is the shot of the lady and red chair.

Could be the scans not optomised for colour and contrast, or film processing, or outdated film stock etc. In any case you should be able to correct quite easily

No, I don't think it is your lens. But what lens did you use?

LOL, old-school, corporate style portrait. From my Tri-X 6049 (ISO 320 version) archives done about 20 years ago. That stiff looking pose!

Penatx 6x7, 165/4 LS, TXP 6049

Thanks Tony and dsmithhfx for your input. I agree that the only one that looks a bit too warm is of my hairdresser. I tried playing around with that one in post, cooling it a bit, but it looked kind of unnatural then (made her too pale). I have a feeling it is the scans. I think I will change who handles my 120 film from the place in Winnipeg to Canadian Film Lab or something. The Winnipeg lab once ran a roll of TriX of mine through colour chemistry and totally blanked it, so they're not in my good books already.

It's the standard Pentax 6x7 lens, the 105 f/2.4 SMC.

Not the lens. My Zeiss glass for my 500C/M renders warm. But typically Pentax glass does not unless you have some old Takumars in small format.

Every color film has a different way of representing color. Scanning through the orange mask of negative color film is yet another variable in the final results. If you are looking for a neutral tone color film, Portra is probably not what you're looking for. But in the image editor, you can cool the color down pretty easy as already noted.

I generally like the way Portra renders colours, especially overexposed. In the case of the hairdresser picture, I do believe that the light coming through the (south facing) window was pretty warm already. I showed my dad (a neutral observer if there ever was one) a comparison between the warm picture and one that I'd cooled down, and he preferred the warm one, so I guess I don't have anything to complain about

Thanks for your input, everyone.
