From last monday; fireworks in Zurich. Unfortunately it was very windy so the shapes of the explosions were mostly distorted, more oval than round. This one was one of the best from that night. Pentax 645D with 2.8/90mm Macro.
I've had the same problem in the past but this one seems not too squashed, considering. Nice shot and I love the setting, worth trying again in the future!

A few shots from my trip to the Grand Canyon in September.
The Grand Canyon is not an easy place to shoot. It is so weather dependent that much planning is required to find it at its best. If the Monsoon fails as it did this year, September will be dry with few clouds. The other good season is winter where you get snow on the ground and that makes a good foreground. You got a couple of good shots from a difficult September.

Thanks, Matt. Next try will be in summer, perhaps (National Day), which is far more comfortable temperaturewise...

Thank you!

I could not really plan the trip as I was visiting US from Australia for training and the times were set. So I met up with Adam Schallau for a quick 1 day (afternoon plus morning) shoot.

The weather was mostly clear with some rain coming through.

Overall I was very pleased to see the Canyon as I had imagined it and make some images to call my own that I had not seen on postcards. Adam is very knowledgeable and made it interesting for my wife to come along and enjoy without a camera.
