Thanks, mate. And lovely shots as always. Particularly love that star trails one at the end.

This is a medium format "point and shoot" I wish Pentax had offered in the 1990's.

I like the shot. California always seems to have every concrete structure painted in wild colors. Even a chunk on the beach.

I shoot my Pentax 67 with a WLF and no light meter in the spring/summer/fall a lot. The Sunny 16 works good enough for general photography and most BW films. And if I'm shooting my 55mm I can set it to a focus point of 10 to 15 feet, stop it down to f16 and it is a now a point and shoot camera. I just have to concentrate on composition.

And I do that with my GSW690III a lot too.

That's what I used to love about my GSW690II. Just a delight to shoot that way with film. "Sadly" zone focusing today isn't as easy---the resolutions we now have show the defects of zone focusing too well, but I still use it when I feel like I can get away with it.

Good to know another GSW owner! When my old one broke, I quickly learned how much I missed it and had to get another one.

No doubt, high resolution digital both in stabilization and metering is way more critical than the shotgun metering approach one can do with film.

Photos from walk in forest

Warm temperatures following our cold spell provided a nice look at the thaw . . . enjoying water proof 645D and AW 90mm f 2.8 in a rainy environment.

I held on to mine for a long time, but finally traded it in when I got my Z, along with other beloved stuff, to help move the purchase from impossible to merely excruciating. But I do miss that camera. Nothing was as/is straightforward to use. I bought it used and it actually held its value for more than 15 years, even adjusted for inflation.

I actually never quite mastered "sunny 16", simple though it seems. Most of the time I used a Luna Pro S with zone metering (had the spot attachment), or if I was really going down and dirty just used ambient metering---actually got pretty good at that, learned how to read the environment pretty well, and account for contrast. Now I have a Starlite 2, although haven't been using it much lately (have to replace the battery door, hinge broke....). I have found that the Z has really good metering if you think about it a bit.
