Yeah, it kind of does. That's a good description of it too.

Pentax 67 55mm on 645D

Sharp Pentax 67 55mm f 4.0 works nicely with the 645D.

The 67 55mm also works nicely on the K-1. Minimal focus distance seems to be less on K-1 than on 67 or 645, making it a nice choice for my close-up flower photography.

MiLKMAN, mikeSF, tuco and itshimitis - thank you all for your kind words. Much appreciated!

The occasion was the morning of my son's Archie's 4th birthday (I actually went out to shoot with his younger brother, while Archie slept in). So it meant a lot to me that it was a good one... :-)

Thanks, mate. Frankly, it was a win to get it at all with a 2-year-old in tow...

Did you use a 'proper' pano-head on the tripod , or simply swivel/sweep the camera on the tripod?......I'm curious because there is no obvious horizon distortion....

Some from Seaford Head, East Sussex looking towards the Seven Sisters... Initially with a late sun deflected by cloud, then into the blue hour... all handheld

Before I left London for the south coast, it started as a fine morning...I was a smidgeon later than I should have been, having looked out of my hotel window and seeing extensive cloud - which evaporated quickly...

One of the advantages of all that resolution headroom is the ability to correct the perspective projection in software. I've never tried to do that with the Photomerge feature in Photoshop, but I have used other pano stitching software that will do it. I don't do them very often, but I may well do more once I have a camera with 50 megapixels.

The only way to avoid having to transform the image geometrically is to use a shifting lens, but then you are limited to the shift range.

Hello chaps,

Although I do have a RRS nodal head, I didn't use it in this case. It was too much to juggle with a toddler and, without any important objects close to the camera, I felt I could get away with just rotating the tripod head. I stitched it in PTGui and didn't have to do any corrections per se. All I did was rotate the whole picture and move the image up so that the horizon fell at the centre of the stitch, and it just went level. I quite often find this works well if the software isn't also having to cope with close foreground details. Each frame had the ACR lens profile corrections done during raw conversion BTW...

itshimitis - love the Seven Sisters and St. Pauls shots. Such wonderful scenes that make me homesick...
