Having spent most of my time editing images on a laptop, and my efforts to get my MacBook Pro to be efficient to use with a 4K monitor proving fruitless, I got a decent deal on a 5K 27 inch iMac from the Apple refurbished store, added 16GB more RAM to it to take it to 32GB. The difference in how the images look is staggering so have been going through the archives and editing images, some of which may have been displayed here before.

1. I know this one has been here before but a re-edit of the pano from Seoul...

2.

3. London at evening

4. Bristol Channel from Llantwit Major...

5. Aberavon Beach at sunset October 2015

I can't make out the 5K difference on my 1080p display...

Some images scanned in high resolution follow, not that the resolution lives after uploading to the forum.
Portra 160, 645N
Desolation in suburbia, in sympathy with ivanvernon's recent shots. Looking West. I was trying to get the sun vs. clouds to cooperate but they were ignoring me. The extreme lumpiness of the snow on the rough terrain is not as obvious as it is to the eye.

Recent March snowfall. 645N, Portra 160,
Street view: Pentax FA 35mm 3.5 @ f/13 1/180s Ev 0.0
Birdfeeder: Pentax FA 300mm 5.6 @ f/5.6 Ev 0.0 around 1/20s to 1/30s
(Birdfeeder was about 14 feet away from front of lens through my side door glass. Note that slow speeds are not compatible with nervous birds.)
(Now that I think about it, a bank of AF-500FTZ flashes could have been set up in TTL mode, but I might only get one bird per day. )
I guess I need to process the birdfeeder photos to rotate them; I don't see a way to do that with this editor; is there a method I didn't find?
Anyway, the negs were scanned at maximum Noritsu resolution and I intend to use Darktable to play with representative examples when I get time. Maybe I can turn Portra into Fujichrome

Three digital nature shots

Trees, water--nature in suburbia . . . as winter reluctantly gives way to spring.

KIT: Z with Pentax 67 75mm f 4.5. It seems to me that the 67-75mm holds up very well for its age

Correction: The first of these three actually is with the Pentax-D FA 645 90mm f 2.8, and not the 67-75mm, my error.
