Thanks, the shoot was one of my most challenging physically, lugging equipment places with no pavement in extremely hot and humid weather with light fading and trying to direct a very young, new model. So much effort, planning and work went into the shoot and it has my fewest likes on Instagram haha

You actually don't need a very long studio for the 300mm if shooting tight portraits. My studio is pretty small, I back up about 10ft.
"The best work is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration"...somebody once said....your shoot result is a very professional looking image....

...and I guess the 300mm on MF is approx. 210mm fov on full-frame, so it's more of a loooong portrait lens.....must give it a try....good idea!

It better be professional looking or I need to close shop and find a new job

I used to use the Canon 200 F1.8 for portraits and now the 300mm is my go to. It's a lens that just makes everything look better. The AF is very fast too. It was a large investment but the look of the lens, beautiful isolation, clarity and color are pure Pentax. I've used the Hasselblad 300mm with the H4D-60 and although it's not an apples to apples comparison, my overall impression was the Pentax 300mm is better.

It's shot on Provia, very well known for saturated color and contrast; not as extreme as Velvia (Disneychrome) but intense nonetheless.
I often desaturate my Velvia and Provia scans just a touch because while they print and project wonderfully they can appear too intense on everyone's already contrasty and bright flatscreens online. E.g., no it's not from PP but for a curve tweak and some export sharpening.

Edit: though honestly, it really is that green in our rainforests around these parts.
Here is the straight-scan (Noritsu)
(I generally do very little to my film shots, finding I sooner make them worse, not better in post if I spend to long staring at it - part of the reason I returned to it honestly.)

I love the feel of the photo and the composition, the color seems intense on my monitor, but it might just be my monitor or my overworked eyeballs.

More portraits from the FA 300mm F4.

PS - I'm not connected to the seller in any way and cannot vouch for him or the sale but there is a FA 300mm F4 selling for a ridiculously low price on Fred Miranda

back to film again (Velvia 50), in the 67 with 165mm f/2,8, I think - I sort of can't remember for sure what I've posted before, but I'll take a punt on this one not having come up here

It's impossible to dial these in with so many screens in the world. I see shots that reach Instagram on someone's phone and they look nothing like intended.
I took it down another tick though - good note.

Nice shot. For a moment I was thinking this was a 67 frame with the 300 and I had a flood of flash sync voodoo questions. But nevermind. Cool freeze!

It all kinda blends together eh? Great shot. I've not been down in that area in far, far too long!

You know... there just aren't enough medium format pet photos in this thread. I'm sure you all agree.

So jealous, that price was bonkers, I paid a lot more. Looking forward to seeing your photos from it.

No insult was taken! Besides even "pros" can take bad photos

I still remember the first photo critique I received was someone telling me to take my camera to the sidewalk and smash it because I'll never take a good photo.

Don't think it is very useful for interior shots, unless you want to use it for details. It is about 58mm in FF format.
You need a lot of distance to get this building as a whole in the frame.

Here's one from closer by.

An this one is with the Mamiya 55/4 shift (Hasselblad mount)
