The American Midwest

My first attempts to shoot Velvia in my life. As they used to say, the jury is still out at this point for me.
My local camera store only charges $5.00 to process and $5.00 for high resolution scans.

Wings Open
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Milwaukee Art Museum

The wings of the roof are an art installation and open like this at 10:00 AM

The Museum’s signature wings, the Burke Brise Soleil, form a moveable sunscreen with a 217-foot wingspan. The brise soleil is made up of 72 steel fins, ranging in length from 26 to 105 feet. The entire structure weighs 90 tons. It takes 3.5 minutes for the wings to open or close. Sensors on the fins continually monitor wind speed and direction; whenever winds exceed 23 mph for more than 3 seconds, the wings close automatically.

Velvia and Whites

For the record, I am strictly a Portra shooter for my color work(160/400/800).
I don't recall ever having an issue with getting good whites with it. But it seems
to be a struggle to get whites that I like with Velvia. Is this me, or are there others
that have issues?

Above the blue lagoon - a pool created by a quarry that is used for extreme diving sponsored by Red Bull. It's at a hamlet called Abereiddy in West Wales just north of Britain's smallest city, St David's.

Just received my SMC Pentax 67 f4 200mm late version from japan. I haven't been able to go out and test it much, but took a couple of handheld shots attached to the Z with a fotodiox pro adaptor. I am impressed by the colour accuracy and very little distortion. Next to try it out nearer infinity for landscape......
