Last month I got a bag of expired 120 film--38 rolls in all. Most of the rolls had expirations dates between 1986 and 2000.
The faster the film, the sooner it will fog. Compare the base + fog density of the expired film to that of fresh film of the same kind to get an indication of how well off it is too. If there is significant fogging you can also see it on a light table next to fresher film. I've had 2013 expired Delta 3200 showing fogging already. Increasing your exposure for old film will push your high values up and help keep them more white in BW film but that won't help for deep blacks. They will become lighter grey the more the film's base fogs.

There were a few rolls of TMAX 400 (the old TMY, not 2TMY) but most of the rest is 100 and slower. I don't know how any of it was stored, but this test roll of TMX100 came out as well as any of my fresh rolls of TMX100. I'm hoping that means the entire batch was kept frozen. I can't develop the Kodachrome, but there is a lot of other no-longer-made film in there that I'm curious about, including a number of different Ektachrome versions, Verichrome Pan, Technical Pan.

Two regular tripods supporting each end of the 600 will do the job for less money and weight. A bipod (if you can find one) under the front of the lens with the tripod mount on a regular tripod will do likewise.

But I’ve been able to lock down the 400+1.4x using a Gitzo and mirror pre-release.

Two tripods are really clunky, especially when tracking the moon, but I am getting good results dropping a carbon monopod from the camera body. It need only make light contact with the ground to stop most of the small amplitude vibration and yields very acceptable results vs. the single tripod.

I've done that with the 300mm EDIF on my P67 and it helps a lot. Quick and easy too compared to a 2nd tripod. I preload it some when fitting the length of the monopod as well.

Here's how it looks with the A*600 and the monopod attached.

Another moody weather shot, this time in Glen Etive. Handheld with the Z and 28-45mm. I was driving my other half and step son so didn't get much opportunity to shoot on this trip (they don't have the slow and steady medium format genes)
Beautiful shot.

Speaking of this lens, I just realized it has a sighting slot on the handle. Take a look.

Looks like it needs a few clicks left and another few up.

Really interesting how the light in the lemon draws you towards the center of the image.
