Shots 2 & 3----2 is lovely, and that's why I think London was better in years past. Have you considered doing a touch of "architectural adjustment" to # 3? Also a lovely shot.

Third shot is excellent!... light and shade really well controlled and proportional....(I also get great results from the 25mm, but rarely see this kind of light where I live...I bought it using the proceeds of selling my 67 300mm M* EDIF...which I now regret as it was also a great lens!).

it was pretty murky. But turtles were there, and lots of activity and large fish that I couldn't identify (12 to 20 inches long, didn't seem like catfish...) I'm no fish expert.

BTW, I brought my 45-85 and the "Monster" 28-45. These things are heavy but I remembered how people used to lug large format cameras around, and even "small" Kodaks in the 19th and early 20th century...

I'm glad I took these. I enjoy my Sony A7R3 for what it is, but the Pentax 645z is a real love affair. The 28-45 is perhaps the finest WA zoom I could ever imagine, albeit very heavy and big...

Sweet series, Tom.

Position of power in a glamorous fashion, pin up poster girl sort of way which seems to reduce some of that power a bit is one feeling I get from them.

Go back far enough where every little thing we as people do didn't have a rule, regulation, fine or penalty a pack animal hauled that view camera kit around for you.

Richard, thx for asking. I'll wait a few months before i post a review, but so far so good!
It is a beast of a lens and requires a bit more planning and technique than using the DFA150-450 on my K3II, but I have done a few pixel peeping comparisons and find the A* to be a fine option for long tele work on 645. The images look wonderful as long as the light is sufficient. I've also shot some long exposure with it and have modified my technique a bit with good results.
more to come.
Thanks Mike for the response. In the past when I have seen that lens I thought I would never consider it because of the monstrous size. Now I seem to be reconsidering. It's nice to know that its providing you with satisfying results. I still only have a 645D with no live view, so until an upgrade to the Z (or ZII) it would be prudent for me to hold off. Do please keep posting images with it and any thoughts you have about the 600. I should note that I don't go to your Flickr site often enough. I enjoy your often more thorough commentary and stories over there.

Of course that begs the question: From where does true power emanate?

The barrel of a gun, apparently.
