Terrific image---and I'm not even that that keen on images like these. But this one transcends the typical attractive urban shot. It's really pretty perfect. Kudos.

You know, it would be a good thing for Pentax Forums to create an area for curated web exhibitions. I'll volunteer (I've curated more than a score of exhibitions over the years). I can see one with some of your images, some of Sculptormic's in particular--- contrasting visions yet some connections in the way the 2 of you approach the geometry of your subjects. Possibly Mike SF too, although as fine as his images are the geometric connection isn't as strong---his work seems more of a landscape approach that happens to include urban.

But I can definitely see you and Sculptormic's work together as a study in contrasting visions.

Hi there,

Well, that is very flattering indeed. Thank you! But I must say that any collection of work from this group would be spoilt for choice (there is SO much great work) and uppermost in that, for me, is Mike SF...

Fabulous image. I take my hat off for your ability to find these stunning viewpoints and the imagination it requires to envisage the image you're trying to achieve.

John.

Don't get me wrong, I very much favor MikeSF's work (Still have to buy a couple of his prints for my daughters....this Yule for sure!). But curation of exhibitions for me means putting things together that relate to one another in particular ways, and I'm seeing that more between you and Sculptormic.

Great feel to the image, and you can almost hear the roar of the rapids!.....just noticed in the EXIF that you were up at F32 on this shot!….some parts of the image look a bit soft on my monitor, so some diffraction there I suspect...better at F11-13 with an ND to maintain the movement in the flowing water?

Ah, September, when dahlias are in flower [apologies to the late Ed McCurdy]. Very nice, as always.

Great Falls -- I used to visit there as a child. It was pretty scary when one is small. Ca. 1950 the Virginia side (as I recall) had a merry-go-round [carousel].

I sincerely appreciate your kind comments. Since you mention dahlias, I am pleased to share a few of mine--plus a photo of a few early morning visitors to my row of hostas. We are hoping our dahlias last another 2-4 weeks while we dread the fast-approaching first killing frost here in northern Ohio.

The first shot is among the best you have posted here. BTW, I'm heading up to Cleveland tomorrow, the 30th, for my work at the CMA de-installing the Kusama show, prior to it moving to Atlanta. So I'll be in town, though working during the week, until Saturday the 3rd, leaving early that day. So, maybe I'll get to meet you. Might go down to the park to photograph those rocks in the one section.

Welcome johnhc! Nice first shot. I guess you are in the mid-Atlantic area? I live in Baltimore but work in DC.
