Doing quite a bit of travelling at the moment - was in Pasadena CA a few days ago, heading back there in just over a week, but didn't use the Pentax there.

Went to sleep at 10pm last night, way way early for me. Set alarm for 6am for sunrise and was up at 5.40...

At the moment, there's major work going on at the Houses of Parliament in London. The tower usually referred to (wrongly) as Big Ben - actually called The Elizabeth Tower (previously The Clock Tower and St. Stephen's Tower) - has scaffolding all over it.

Rather than seeing this as a problem, I wanted to use it to create an eerie, sinister mood... The looming presence of a glow in the sky, the mixture of the familiar and the weirdly jarring. Somehow more interesting than yet another version of the usual shot...

Got up early this morning to come back to the same place I was earlier in the week when it was raining. Today I got some light.

There was a little on the ground this morning but it isn't really visible in the photo. But maybe a little bit visible on the sagebrush...

Great shot, I went to the Eastern Sierras this week and the weather ranged from desert sun 80's to high mountain 30's and being pelted with ice and rain.
Unfortunately I went easy on my back and shoulders and took my A7RII.

Thanks, friends! We have been on a good streak of light and fall color lately so I'm trying to take as much advantage of that as I can.

Speaking of which I went out again this morning to "W Mountain" which overlooks town. Nice light today as well.
645D & FA 80-160, which has been the right lens a lot lately.
