A couple of images from last week. Also, some helpful hints from other forum members would be appreciated on a question I have on images posted here...… Why is it that, when posting to this forum, all my images just seem to soften up and lose contrast? Am I missing something?

No, you're not. I posted one time in the fall of 2014 and never again! Image looked fine on my monitor (it was a purposely odd image..) and just wretched here. Your images don't look so bad here, and they are nice ones, btw.

Perhaps your images are being scaled. Try downsampling them to around 1280 max width, and 920 max height, and apply any sharpening and contrast corrections as needed for forum display. You may also need to change your image size default settings for the forum.
I sure wish there was a page that discussed this in detail, and gave pointers on this. Clearly some of our posters have overcome the problem. I guess after my work travel is done around Thanksgiving I'll try a test or two with some brick wall images to try to figure this out.

Another possibility is the image editing/viewing software has a different gamma to the web browser. This can drastically affect apparent image quality.

They usually look better if you let the scaling happen anywhere but at this site. What I use is Flickr which has a convenient way to copy the BBCode snippet to embed a scaled version of your photo at the size you specify. Looks pretty good to my eyes and definitely better than an image scaled here.

Thank you for the feedback. I figured that it was related to how this forum handle my images. I’ll try getting them dimensionally correct for submission in the future. Again thanks.

645D & A35 last night. We had cool clouds all day so I went out this spot and they all disappeared for sunset.

When I bought my 645D I only had 6x7 lenses and the Pentax adapter, this was an experiment to see how the 6x7 35mm Fish-Eye would fare on the camera. Shot with the in-lens Red filter and converted to mono in post. I was careful to try and keep the horizon as close to the centre of the frame as I could to minimise the FE effect.

Interesting. Thanks for posting. I have been a little curious about the 67 fisheye. I do not have it, but instead have been using the Arsat 30mm f 3.5 in Pentacon mount with the P6-Pentax 645 adapter with the Pentax 645D and 645Z cameras.
