Yes you're right. it looks a bit funny, but i wouldn't know how to correct this. Still I find it a charming lens to work with and it is wider and smaller the the P67 75mm shift lens.

Behave...

That is hardened tar behind them and all along the shore.
The native Chumash Indians used it to seal their ocean

Antiques, Furniture and More! This Way
The view from setting the camera on the handrail. I think one of those bean bags tripods would be easy to carry and let you aim the camera some.

A revisit of one of the earlier shots, using a different WB temperature.

Some from around Keswick...

Blencathra is a very distinctive mountain, and from the east looks like a saddle - hence its nickname of Saddleback...

Paul - that first shot in particular is smashing!

And Castlerigg is an intriguing place. Even without Dervla Kirwan and Ronald Pickup there... ;-)

Thanks Ed. Trying to avoid having people in your shot is the most difficult thing!

If they are doing what Dervla and Ronald were doing, I might just let them be in the shot.

Still life fruit

I am working on still life shots this month. I will very much appreciate any critical comments anyone can offer especially if coupled with advice on how to improve. Using small strobe AF200T straight on with white opaque diffuser.

KIT: Z with D FA 90mm f 2.8.

I don't have any great advise. But for experimental and comparison sake, try hanging a large, white nylon sheet in front a window ( I found mine in bulk at a fabric store). Double layer if need be to really diffuse the light. Put the fruit on a table in front of the window. Use a reflector(s) common to the camera side and see how that looks. The objective here is to get the appearance of a much larger and diffused light source in lieu of the more pin-pointed, in a closet looking setup you have here. Just an idea.

I agree, the light is a bit harsh.
Also, think about how you arrange your fruit in terms of how they fit together well. A banana would make a better frame than it's division role here (IMO or course). I'd try and think about a nice landscape composition and arrange my fruit to create those same landscape elements we like, using lines, repetition, framing, and/or any other compositional tool I can get in there.
Finally I think a tad more DOF or way less would be better. Here the front pieces are sharp and the lemon in the back is just a little blurry. I think it might make it better if either they were all in sharp focus or maybe just one "featured" piece with the rest fading into the bokeh. I'd probably try both ways to see how it could look.

Thanks Tuco and Matt for the advice, much appreciated. I will give these ideas a try.

I agree with others comments about the lighting being harsh particularly with the blown highlights, but the fidelity of color and texture is breathtakingly good.
