Winter steam

Bit different from my usual material - a return to a former obsession (steam locomotives!).

Taken on Saturday in Surrey (UK)
645Z with 90mm lens.

Great capture, love that 90mm! Reminds me of a 2 day trip I took across China from Beijing all the way down to Guangjou (Canton) via steam engine passenger train back around 1982.

Funny you should say that, sir. But it actually wasn't the new 90mm that I used! I was out on a family trip and had to keep equipment size down to a minimum. So this was shot with my old 6x7 90mm f2.8 lens, which is much smaller than the new 645 DFA 90mm f2.8. Still pretty sharp though, huh? :-)

Yes, definitely sharp, but one of the 67 lens that I have not added to my collection so would have to have used my 67-105 f 2.4 or 67-75 f 2.8 (or D FA 90, of course). You dun good.

Pentax 6x7 150mm f2.8 Kodak Ektar 100

After putting on dual custom grips on my "new" 6x7 last year, I finally started using it. Used my 1965 Chevy for practice.

Congrats and I look forward to seeing more, @Blasst

Playing around with my view camera. I used a window with a nylon sheet over it. Some window framing artifacts showed up through it however. It takes me forever rotating and tilting standards over-and-over trying to get everything in focus with a 180mm focal length.

Thanks. Mine is a technical field camera. It has a tilting rear standard.
