As I suspected, I missed the sun setting behind the islands. Here are some from this evening...

Z and FA 400

And a shot from a few weeks ago at Lodore Jetty on the shores of Derwentwater, Lake District

and a crop from that shot...

Medium format cheatin'

You can't hang the medium format Mamiya 645 C SF 145mm f 4.0 (soft focus) lens on a Pentax 645 Z/D/N because of incompatible registry distances, but you can do the next best thing and use it on the full-frame K-1, and here are a few examples. There are certain advantages to this kind of ersatz medium format photography because of all the advanced features of the K-1 including SR, fantastic ISO performance, focussing aids, and the convenient little dial on top that lets you change all kinds of settings conveniently. The lens is used here in its non-SF mode.

If anyone thinks this post is inappropriate because the camera is not MF just say so and I will remove it.

Yes you're right. it looks a bit funny, but i wouldn't know how to correct this. Still I find it a charming lens to work with and it is wider and smaller the the P67 75mm shift lens.

Nice picture.
Is it easy to modify the mount?

I bought it modifyed on ebay. Sometimes they are for sale. I am not sure but I think it is done by Zörk in München.

That's a great shot, Mike. But I am certain you already knew that. The reflection ringed by the rocks is perfect, and although I'm not a "moment" sort of guy, the perfect moment for the clouds. The light and shade contrast is excellent. Hard to bring something new to such an iconic subject!

I often think if people "shooting" their cameras at Half Dome were actually shooting projectiles, all we'd have would be gravel now.

Kudos for you effort and work, and excellent taste.

Something from the D

Three from the 645D with SMC Pentax 67 105mm f 2.4. I feel like a midget among the giants with the landscapes of mikeSF, skulptormic, ishimitis, jonahanMac, unipunki, and others.

Great shot, Mike! I haven't been shooting my MF gear in recent weeks because I wind up needing to ski to photo locations lately and have been going lighter.

Where have you been posting? I've been missing your medium format photos.

Thanks. I've been shooting my K-1ii and K-3. I've been posting around in some of the K-1 and 18-135 (my usual ski lens) forums.
If you really want to follow along regardless of gear there's always my Flickr stream.

I've got the same problem here, except I don't own any skis and I don't even know how to ski. So I'm not going anywhere with any gear.
