I have some rolls of HP5 that are expiring next month, thus it's time to shoot'em. Here, a bit of fun with a SMC Takumar/6x7 105/2.4 attached to my Pentax 645 via a K&F Concept adapter. I took Charlotte to her swim lesson and I then slipped off to my favorite cemetery in Poitiers ... Chilvert, for it's older sections. Home developed in LC-29 and scanned with an Epson V600.

Those look great! This makes me want to go shoot some film.

Nice doggies.

I notice an effect in these shots that appears less obviously in human portraits where there is only background some distance behind -- the dog captured whole from above is naturally in the grass and the depth of focus transition appears as an abrupt delineation in the grass. I think this brings attention to itself. I'm not qualified as a dog portrait expert, but think it would be better in such shots extending the depth of field somewhat so the transition from focus to defocus is extended. Ground level shots, however, hide this somewhat (e.g., Timotis77 example), much as shoulder portraits of humans do.
I think 2 out of the three were wide open at f/2.8... partly due to them being mostly in shade and also the fact that they rarely sit still for long enough...

Very nice! Were these hand-held or on tripod?

Merci bien, mon ami !

All hand-held and mostly shot at wide open or a half down at 1/1000 ... wanted to see for the DoF, etc. The 400 speed film was kind of pushing it here, but I have the rolls to finish since my French wife has a thing about film in a fridge.

I might bring the tripod another time, but it would be a pain at this part of the cemetery where the graves are very close with very uneven ground ... and not maintained well or even at all.

It's good to know I'm not the only one - my Spanish wife hates that I have film in the fridge (and the freezer). She has this ridiculous idea that fridges and freezers are just for food, rather than for anything that needs to be kept cold.

Very nice photos BTW. I have fond memories of shooting my 645 in a Parisian cemetery on my last trip. Cemeteries here in Spain just can't compete. I was in a nice one in Cardiff last year though, but I've still to develop and scan those rolls. I'm so far behind in my film workflow it's absurd.

CZJ 180mm f 2.8

Few shots with Z and CZJ 180mm f 2.8 goes a long way toward supporting the assertion that with lenses it is not measurable sharpness but unmeasurable rendering that makes the difference. If I ever make it out to the
Rockies, this big 7-pound kit (3 lb. 9 oz. for Z + 3 lb 3 oz for lens) pounder is coming with me!

Some from the viewpoint on the Shard in London. The top floor gallery. I haven't been able to control the reflections as well as @EdHurst's. I was there earlier than when Ed did his shots. One or two people were using mini tripods but tripods of all kinds are generally not allowed, so had to up my ISO...
