Thanks! Yeah, for me, this film is very touchy in the exposure. And I have to find the right subject and conditions for it. But in return you get some different film properties.

A fairly low-quality scan of one of my first portraits on my RB67 (click through for much better quality):

Poor scans aside (my film lab isn't really equipped to scan 120), I like the camera a lot. I'll like it even better once I learn how to take a proper photograph.

I've been playing around with the 645Z and the adapted Pentax 67 165mm f 4.0 LS (leaf shutter) lens. I used an old manual Sunpak 422D flash unit on manual setting and one of those SaveConverter brand voltage protector gadgets to protect the camera and to provide a cable port in order to make the necessary cable connection between the flash unit and the LS lens. (Very few strobe units seem to provide connector ports.) I set the LS shutter at 1/500 seconds, its fastest speed, and the in-camera shutter at 4 seconds to assure that it stayed open long enough to accommodate the leaf shutter in the body of the lens since both shutters are firing. I set ISO at various levels, and camera aperture at f 4.0 (wide open for this lens). I found that the 67-165mm LS lens functions when using the genuine Pentax P67-P645 adapter, but not with the K&FConcepts adapter. Using this setup, the brightness level can be controlled in several ways: (1) flash setting, and I was using 1/8, (2) by LS shutter speed, and I was using various levels to experiment, and mostly 1/500 sec., and (3) ISO level, and after trying various levels, I settled on ISO100.

Apologies for the mundane nature of the photographic subject, an old-time favorite hat of mine that has been around for about 15 years. Hopefully, I will be able to find an attractive model one of these days in order to test the lens for one of its primary intended purposes--outside portraiture with good subject separation and blurred or dark backgrounds.

Speaking from experience, algae/seaweed -covered boulders don't play nice with cameras. You guys did well.
