Great shot, and a scene I've never seen before.

Love Portra for its realism. It seems to bring to the present the good features of Vericolor III Pro.

Turns out finding actual Pro SD backs for my RB67 Pro SD is not as easy as finding the cameras for some reason. The seals the Pro S back that came with mine are looking grody...no light leaks, though. Plus I think the multiple exposure prevention system is not working.

I should have my first colour roll back this week, see how the 127mm renders colour. Pretty well, I would suspect.

How many people here have had night mares loading 120 into their Patterson reels?Well it drove me nuts trying to load inside of the changing bag. Well all of that is History, because I am using the Omega Reels. Just wanted to share this. Happy Film Developing. CHEERS

I only have problems if the film is really curly. I think Fompan is the worst, if I remember correctly, and I've already decided not to buy any more Fompan in any format. The most helpful thing to do is cut off a tiny snip at 45º at the leading corners, so that those corners don't snag. Works very well with 35mm film too (Tri-X comes to mind).

You also need to make sure that the reels are 100% dry, otherwise the film won't load.

Well I thankyou for your insight. But I can tell you for me personally, I had no success loading the Patterson with 120. However 35mm wasnt an Issue. Like I said before, the Omega Reel is a breeze with 120 ,haven't mess up a roll since. Just sharing that .

I found the Patterson reels worked very well with 120 provided I did the following... Having got the backing paper off the film, re-roll the film so that the end with the adhesive strip on it is at the final end of the roll, leaving the other, clean end to lead. If you drag the leading edge of that end past the ball bearing, the rest seems to follow easily. Doing it any other way was problematic.

For me it was a pure Night Mare

Lots of people seem to use the Paterson reels without issue however I found them to be a nightmare too. I bought stainless steel reels years ago and have enjoyed quick and easy loading of both 120 and 35mm since then.
