A lovely lovely shot, sir! This passes the test - it annoys me that I didn't take it :-)

At the suggestion of another forum member, I have been looking into the apparent sharpness (or lack thereof) in this lily image. Expanding the original PEF file to 100% in Darktable shows blur, and I think it is motion blur due to the marginal exposure time and leaning out over the pond. I'll try to take a different approach when the weather here improves.

OK, another shot today with parameters that should be adequate to stop motion. Both jpg and pef at 100% in Darktable look sharp. Camera JPG Imported directly to PF.

Here is the same photo but exported by Darktable from the camera jpg to a 1200 x 800 jpg for PF to use as is (I think). It is left to the pixel peepers to determine whether the PF file shrinkage algorithm has any detectable effect relative to that of Darktable (95% quality).

IME PF's scalar produces mushy results, relative to scaling and sharpening in an image editor.

I should note that I didn't try to sharpen it. I need some more experience with Darktable before I want to present something as "better." But to my eye these two images at screen resolution look the same.

I quite prefer my moons with a little daylight splashed on them, alas, it seems like they always come out at night. Kudos for seizing this opportunity.
