Thank you. Amcars are a big thing in Sweden. Here's a Mercury Marauder.

Camera: Pentax 645N

My FIL had a later model Mercury, actually a Canadian market '66 Meteor 2 dr. hardtop. Same car as the Merc, just different badging.

He had the 7 liter, 428 FE V8...345 hp. This was back in the 1960's, he used it to commute from the city to his grain farm...usually @ about 90 mph.

Nice shots. I had a '62 Volvo PV 544 with B18 engine. My father had a '69 Impala, same year as the Impala in your picture series. However my father's Impala had the 396 cube V8, known in North America as the 'Rat' motor.

Mike, Do you have to deal with fog forming on the lens for these night shots? Up here where I live that is often a problem.

Phil
Hi Phil, this time of year it is quite dry in the mountains and most places. I kept checking as the temperature dropped, but no condensation formed at all on my front element.

Flash didn't fire on this as I accidentally had the shutter speed at 1/160 and my Nikon B26 speedlight only fires on the 645Z at 1/125 of a sec. or slower. I had heard about the Z's ability to recover details from underexposed raw shots, but on this one the thumbnail was completely black. But pocessing the .dng file in Photoshop brought out quite a few details. 645Z, iso-100, f32, 1/160 sec. Pentax -A 645 Macro 120mm f4.

It was just a cheap double-entendre from me, riffing on the phrase "my front element"

It came out like a gold coin. I don't know why. I could have changed the color, but thought it looked kind of cool.

Great use of the 55mm

Great use of the new 55mm. I would have considered it a little short for portraiture, but it definitely seems to work, and the photos are quite sharp. Some of the poses seem overly contrived, but they are so obviously contrived that this kind of deliberate posing becomes a part of the art, almost perhaps a rebuke of the school of naturalism portraiture. It would be very interesting to have your take on the positioning and posing of the models and your intent.

645Z and 67-105/2.4

I took a garden walk this morning with the Pentax 67 105mm f 2.4, which I believe is the fastest Pentax medium format lens, and this is one of the results, no stopping down.
