I was hoping to be able to get a shot of a snowy waterfall that I left running in my pond, but all we got (in S. NH) today were a few flakes. There is still hope; we have the earliest primary election so I expect to see a lot more.

So the local camera repair shop cannot de-haze my lens due to the haze being in the rear element that is cemented together. The lens is a Mamiya K/L 127mm 3.5.

Short of buying a haze-free lens (which I may do, but a lot of them seem to have haze), does anybody have any leads on lens repair places (in North America, Canada even better) that could tackle this problem? Maybe somebody has a spare rear element kicking around? Maybe pigs fly?

Thanks for any and all help.

Keh works on lenses, and does a great job, but minimum charge is $250, and I see this lens listed on eBay for prices around $150 and up. Therefore, I suspect that the most economical approach will be replacement.

Recently had a trip to San Francisco, during which I met up again with my friend, the wonderful Mike Oria. My thanks to him, as ever, for his company and his generous advice about the area/locations.

Time has been short for editing/processing, so I'll share pictures as the opportunity arises. To start off, though, here are a couple...

Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach (645Z with 90mm f2.8 DFA lens)

View from above the Robin Williams tunnel (645Z with 55mm f2.8 DFA lens)

Yeah, it's looking to be that way, though I'll keep feelers out anyways, even for parts lenses with a clear rear element.

I can work with the haze until then, it works for certain things.

A rather special morning in San Francisco Bay - looking from Marin Headlands over the Golden Gate Bridge towards the city and the Bay Bridge.
