B&W film developing isn't difficult. Give it a try. Just don't try an irreplaceable roll the 1st time.
Thanks,

I should give it a try or sell my PZ-1P, two MZ-S cameras, and the 645N to someone who will use them, not to mention the Yashica-MAT EM.

Also, much less expensive...and it appears to show less grain. Now my challenge is to use up
the 5 liters prior to it's expiration of 6 months!
Pentax 645NIII, smc PENTAX-FA 645 ZOOM 1:4.5 45-85mm, XTOL Developer 1:1 6 1/2 minutes
f/8.0 1/30 ASA 320 -2/3EV @85mm
That's a fine image, classic but with a new wrinkle. The background is great.

Sunday Shoot at the Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

A beautiful day strolling around the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. I am so lucky to stay in one of the prettiest cities that I have ever been to. But always conscious of the problems blighting some of my fellow SF residents.

Wish I could get up the courage to try developing some of my own film for the 645N, but probably not.
Average developing time BW film development is not difficult. It's when you get a densitometer and take it to the next level with the zone system of metering and developing that takes time to master. And going from the negative to making a computer screen image is often more of a challenge than the film development.

C-41 color is not difficult either once you have some basic gear. And you can develop at 30C temperature too with kits like the Tetenal ColorTect kit. But, again, often going from color negative to computer screen image can be the difficult part.

Fuji Pro 400H, Tetenal ColorTech 1-liter kit at 30C

You should give it a try, but if you decide not to that doesn't mean the cameras should be sold. Many people, including professionals, shoot fine photos and never develop their film. Guarantee the pros at Nat Geo didn’t hand develop all that Kodachrome. This is a hobby for most of us and should be fun.
Thanks,

Tuco: The doggie-hydrant picture desperately needed the dog's leash handle hung on the back-side hydrant spigot so it would look like the tiny dog pulled the hydrant partly away from the ground. (Yes, it is clear that the hydrant pipe is intended to be vertical, but what the heck, go for the humor.)

Ha, good idea. It was enough for me just trying to keep him still. It's my brother's dog so he doesn't mind me very well.

Good advise. If you wanna dust off the ol' Pentax 645/67 and give it a try again, send out some rolls to get developed/scanned and see what you think before investing into how you're going to digitize the images if that's a goal.

Sorry to flood the thread with x-posts but I finally took my 500C/M out for a spin after a long hiatus and it was fun. And I tried my Pentax 67 with a Tak 600mm. I'll have see how those look.

Good advice. I gotta do it, but winter here in northern Ohio has been too drab to encourage much in the way of photography. Somtimes two or three days passes before I take any shots, waiting for spring gardening.
