barondla, here are several pics of that Mindshift Ultralight bag and what I can put in it. The first image shows the Z with the 55 attached in one part of the bottom removable insert, with the FA150 standing up on the other part of the insert. The second image shows the 150 placed on top of the Z. The other section has the FA 45-85 and the DFA 35. Obviously that can all be rearranged, but you get the idea.

The last photo shows a Lowepro insert that I use for the top of the bag, which is otherwise unpadded. Other inserts work as well. The lenses are the 25, 28-45, 35, 45-85, 90, 150, and the 200, with the 55 on the camera--it's a kit I have for work purposes and happened to be packed in the bag. But the 25, 28-45 and 90 are all big lenses, so this is a good example of how much will go into the bag. That's my Gossen spot meter also. The top "lid" compartment has a blower, a couple of polarizers and an adapter, a shutter release & etc, and there's still room inside for my laptop and on top of the insert plenty of room for a raincoat and lunch. So, a whole lot of stuff. This bag is 5 years old? 4? I got it when it first came out and I retired my old Kata.

Sorry everyone to post this here, but private messaging doesn't seem to support attachments....
Thanks for the photos texandrews, they help a lot. The pack easily carries all the equipment I want to carry. Now I need to do some thinking. These pictures and your help is much appreciated.

Thanks again,
barondla

Where do you keep the back brace and hernia truss?

Heh. Don't forget the tripod....

But actually, it's heaviest when you pick it up to put it on, like all camping gear. If you've done that sort of thing, then it's actually not that alarming. And that is one thing about this pack that's very good is that it rides well, and the belt and straps are good. It's not as good as a purpose built camping backpack, but then you're not doing a week-long trip with it either. For me, this thing and its airline friendly aspect (including its very light weight empty) are the best compromise for my photo needs.

But if you were going to do much more than a 1500'/500 meter altitude gain at higher elevations in american/Canadian style rough terrain during a portion of a day, returning same day, then I'd consider a pack that was more geared to actual backpacking.

Thanks, Mike. That lightning picture was pretty cool.

I dunno, as businesses open up from Covid-19 with precaution procedures you can see, something about cooking behind closed doors and handing you the food makes me think twice.

I just received the 67 55-100 f4.5 lens today and have tested it. It is a "keeper".
