That must be the star version of the 800. The image is incredibly clear for the shooting distance involved. In viewing the image, it is entertaining to speculate exactly where the precise focus was. It must be near impossible to focus on a single point with this kind of lens. I am tempted to try to acquire these long 645 and 67 lenses to complete my collection, but I know I could never use them appropriately so will probably give up the idea. Hope you will keep up the great work with this fantastic lens.

I took a few pictures with my 67 M 90-180 mm f/5.6 zoom, Ivan. Now it's your turn to show us a couple of images made with your 67 90-180 mm ... lol !

Regards, dear friend

I was waiting to see some deer gamboling in the meadow, but will go out and look for something else.

Love the way the weeds in the foreground anchor the image.
This is a negative or a print scan ?

A few with the P67 90-180mm

My mint P67 90-180mm has not received much of a workout . . . here are a few test snaps of convenience. Sorry there is not any more interesting scenery conveniently at hand.

KIT: 645Z with Pentax 67 90-180mm f 5.6.

Thanks. It is also a very well built lens, quite satisfying to use. I have one correct hood which I share with the little bit sharper P67 55-100mm.

Sharp lens with superb color.

Anyway you or Richard could post a pic of the 645 80-160 next to the 67 90-180 to get a feel for the size difference?

Thanks for sharing,
barondla

@barondla :

I promise I'll try them side by side with the same subject as soon as I can. They're similar in size and weight (except the 67 has a 95 mm diameter to a 77 mm diameter for the 645) but I fear the 67 will blow away the 645 like what I saw previously with my comparisons (bummer !).

Regards

Oh, I thought the 67 90-180 was supposed to be considerably larger? I was thinking a picture of them laying next to each other would show the size difference. If they are that close in size don't bother. Still want to see the picture quality difference.
Thanks,
barondla

Ha ha ! I guess it's a psychological quirk on my part : when I mount a 67 lens on the 645Z it always seems BIG and HEAVY compared to 645 optics. Probably manual focus on the 67's that makes the difference compared to easy autofocusing with the FA 645's. Check the Lens Reviews section and you'll see they don't really differ much in weight and dimensions.

Regards

Love that shot! I belief is similar to the shot I’ve gotten from the Slanted Door?
