Hi,

That one with the angled top....when I am up top of Whiteface Mountain in NY, in early July, the sun reflects off that roof. Looks like a second sun to the North. Freaky!

Hiking in Hong Kong

Some shots from yesterday's hike in Hong Kong.

645z with 645FA 45-85mm. The quality between this lens and the 67 55-100mm is quite visible in the raw files.

Best wishes to everybody for the New Year. Last year was.... enough said, better to look forward.

Hi,

Yup. Tesla and Westinghouse. There is a single line at 765kV from the Falls to Albany, NY then a series of four 340kV from Albany to Indian Point. Those went thru my little town in NY where I grew up. Was quite the sight one summer evening when lightning hit Indian Point and the surge melted the wires way up where we lived. Lit up the night, all right!

LIFE IS GOOD ! I finally found both my late-model 67 M 55 mm f/4 (damn best lens ever in the 67 system) and my late-model M 105 mm f/2.4 (more than excellent too). I will mount them on the 645Z as soon as conditions permit. I was not even looking for them when I happened to put my hands on their cases. LIFE IS GOOD !

Ten days ago, I also found the 90 mm f/2.8, 135 mm f/4 macro and 165 mm f/2.8, all late models. Not in a hurry to try those though.

Regards

P.S. On eBay, beautiful used copies of the 105 mm f/2.4 sell for 800 US$ ++ while the late 55 mm f/4 costs only 300 US$. Law of "Supply and Demand", I guess. The 55 mm is "stellar" while the 105 mm is just "excellent". The 55 mm was always my most used landscape lens with the 67 II film body : vertical orientation, f/16, foreground picture anchor, awesome overall sharpness and contrast.

There's an admirable Zone System example.

Ice crust over the Saint Lawrence, CANADA. 645Z + A 80-160 mm f/4.5 zoom @ f/11.

After weeks of cold weather, a thick ice crust forms over the shoals of the Saint Lawrence and it is broken in huge blocks by the daily 6 foot tides.

Thanks! I must confess I wasn't actually employing the zone system per se for this (or the others on the 220 roll!); however, I metered for the shadows at ISO 250 and made sure I developed no longer than a normal time in HC-110B.
