And, lovely as digital is, sometimes the rendering of proper B&W film, shot on a big camera, just can't be equalled!

I guess you must be skinny and not too appetizing for this "dinosaur" ... lol !

I visited an alligator farm in Cuba in the 1980's. I was standing near a fence with a sizable gap under the hinged doors, maybe 20 feet away from one big gator. It acted like a "log" with only the eyes moving intently in my direction. As soon as I turned my back to rejoin the tourist group, I heard "swoosh - swoosh" as this hypocrit bastard was running to come after me when I stopped watching it. Its gaping jaw caught the lower portion of the gates and it was stopped in its tracks (these beasts have an I.Q. of + or - 8, so ...). I have hated these saurians ever since ... I was about 240 pounds then and must have looked very appetizing ... lol !

Best Regards

Hi,

I always really liked the monochrome digital sensors. Not too many out there, although Kodak was the king of those (and IR and UV as well). I wonder, when I replace the 645D, if I could make a mono CCD out of it.......

A repost but, for fun, here is a comparison between the dynamic range of positive and negative film, FWIW. This Provia 100F and Ilford FP4+ were taken at the same time with the same exposure. There was some variability in the amount of the rapidly clearing fog.

Why thanks. I'm flattered. I'm a small fish in a big pond of BW film photographers with way more talent than me. Your last post is pretty electrifying.
