Why thanks. I'm flattered. I'm a small fish in a big pond of BW film photographers with way more talent than me. Your last post is pretty electrifying.

Thanks again.
I wish I were as good as either one of you!

Had some time this morning to take a couple of long distance shots. The Islands are at about 4.1km, according to Google maps.

Both pictures are with P67 400mm f4. Was very hazy and cloudy but was able to counter some of that with a polarize filter.

The wide picture is with P67 TC1.4 (560mm).

The close-up with the boat is with P67 TC1.4 + P67 TC2.0 + P645 TC1.4 (1,568mm).

I was concerned that the close-up picture would be totally fuzzy and unusable, but was not too bad. Wouldn't pass it for a print quality but ok to get the shot.

Focusing was only possible with live view, mostly because of the hazy conditions and at an actual aperture of f/16 there is not much light to work with in the viewfinder.

I was quite surprised that the combo of teleconverters would even work. I first tried it a couple of evenings ago when taking pictures of the moon. With its bright light the small effective aperture was not too much of a problem. The only weird part is that the camera reports an f stop of f8 when the lens is open full at f4, which is not possible of course. Probably the result mixed data reported to the camera and the engineers never dreamt that someone might actually hook up a combo like this.

Here are a couple of shots of the moon with the full enchilada (P67 400mm + P67 TC1.4 + P67 TC2.0 + P645 TC 1.4) = 1568mm @ full open aperture => f/16. The first is the uncropped version with minimal processing in ACR. The second is a cropped version to about 80%. I'll post some pics and my conclusions of the setup in the Behind the Scenes thread.

Amazing! Never expected 3 teleconverters to perform so well. Most lenses perform better closed down a few steps. Did you try any at F5.6?
