A Great Camera Club / Flickr Friend took me out on a trip to photograph 'Essex Churches' on the ONE SUNNY DAY we had for a LONG TIME ! I did some B&W 2001 dated Ilford Delta 100 in RODINAL 1+50 on my original 6x7 Mk II MU + SMC Pentax 67 75mm f4.5 'Shift' lens. I got it years ago for doing transparencies of Commercial Properties for a Company that subsequently went BROKE ( as usual! ) and all the work stopped. I did DARKROOM PRINTS on some old Ilfospeed Glossy Grade 1 Whole-Plate size with my LPL C7700 Pro + 105mm f4.5 El-Rokkor lens and developed the paper in my Home-Made Crawley Formula Print Dev 1+3

Autumn Trail

645D with FA645 45–85mm at 45mm. 1/30 s, f/13, ISO 100. Used some subtle color grading in LrC to enhance the fall colors a smidge right after it replaced/updated split toning.

Cool image. This is one single exposure? Either way, it came out great.

Thanks for sharing,

This is the unprocessed exported as a jpg: Impressive amount of detail recovery.

A slightly different edit and a different distortion correction and therefore crop...

That is impressive. However, I like the unprocessed original more.

You'd rather have the pitch dark one? I'd have to disagree there. I'd shot here before with the Pentax and with a larger aperture and higher ISO, and the room light and lighthouse light were both totally blown so shot specifically to try and stop that happening.

Rungstedlund

Rungstedlund was the home of the former Danish novelist Karen Blixen (aka Isak Dinesen) in Rungsted on the Øresund coast just north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The windows to the left of the tree belongs to the room where she wrote "Out of Africa".

Here is one of the last argentic images I ever took with my Pentax 67 II. I often took care of my two grandaughters and they wanted to set up a stand to sell lemonade to make their first dollars and pay for a trip to Niagara Fall's Marineland during the summer. Their parents are teachers and they were still at work for a few days at the end of June while the children were already on summer vacation, so Grandpa and Grandma took over.

I very rarely photograph people but I made a special for these kids. I mostly used my older K10 and K20 cameras to take pictures of them when they were young. But I captured their "lemon-aid" stand (which I set up myself to their absolute delight) with the 67 II and the P67 75 mm f/2.8 AL lens on Fuji Reala 100 negative film. These children are very expressive and the picture shows their joy when they saw their first client coming to buy a drink. The Municipal Public Works foreman was driving by in a large orange-colored work truck and stopped when he noticed the lemonade stand. He was kind enough to give them their "first dollar" ever (called a "loony" in Canada, a large golden coin worth one dollar). Their mother gave them a bank full of coins so they would be able to render change. Nonetheless, to remind them of the value of work, their parents framed this first-earned 1$ coin and they still have it to this day.

The P67 75 mm f/2.8 AL gave a field of view similar to a 35 mm moderate wide-angle in Full-Frame on the Pentax 67 II. It is an extremely versatile lens, extremely sharp starting @ f/5.6 and I rediscovered it in 2020 as an awesome "normal" lens on the 645Z.

Sammy (with a K20 and DA 55-300 mm f/4-5.8 zoom) : the big sister with her grandmother's eyes.

Alex (with a K10 and DA 16-45 mm f/4 zoom) : I called her "the Pest" ... lol !

Their newly set up "lemon-aid" stand (with the 67 II and 75 mm f/2.8 lens) at the moment of their first sale.

Here's some more with the my 645z and 28-45.

Skies were held back using a Lee 0.75 GND soft filter. I prefer filters over exposure blending. Easier and less hassle. All processed in the excellent DXO photo labs 4.

First light

Second light

Why nothing inbetween - well - wind. That tree was moving around a lot so had to time my shots carefully then keep the best ones where the branches didn't have any moving. At 50mp and at 100% view this takes a little time. I like to take a burst of 3 when the wind is calm so I can see if the branches have moved at all between the sequences at 100% view. If they all superimpose - then you know you've nailed it.

On the way back I made a stop at Lochan na Stainge - it seemed calmer there but the cloud was low hiding the peak of Meall a' Bhuiridh

That little spec of white is the snow capped peak beginning to emerge as the cloud burns off.

I took a few with idea's for different crops. Here's a 2:1

And here is a square
