This morning's crop : daisies in my backyard.

One of the most difficult pictures I ever took : heavy 645Z camera, handholding, limited depth-of-field, AF hunting between the flower heads, strong wind and increasing cloudiness. $@#*&?% shooting conditions ! This is the best of 12 tries. I never hoped one would even turn out like this. 645Z + 645 FA 120 mm f/4, 1/1600 sec @ f/8.

Second try : the sun came out for a few minutes ...

Results somewhat different from the first try, white petals are "whiter" or a little colder hue. Strange. I think I prefer the first image.

Richard - the first is much better with more neautral tones. The second post is too green in hue/wb with the whites having a noticible colour cast. The first has the correct colours.

I rarely adjust colors but this time I toned down the bluishness of the previous pic.

Because of my poor color vision (van Gogh syndrome), I rarely "dare" to change tints much but I found the previous picture too "blue", so I toned it down. I think the result is more life-like.

When 320TXP, Tri-X Pan Professional, was discontinued in roll film, I purchased a stash. I think it's time start using it up.

No - still the very first one by a country mile. And I am using a calibrated Eizo screen with a colour managed browser. The first one that you think is warm is bang on colour correct.

So, the first one it is ... Strange the White Balance shifted so badly. I'll have to see to that. THX !

I think things are back in order.

The colours were the reason I took the photo. Intense.

Bit of a project this one! Sydney by night.

Some of you may remember an image like this being posted by me last year. It was already a composite because the road in this scene isn't clear like this - there are overhead gantry signs etc. in the way - so I took the image and added a road / traffic trail scene taken elsewhere in Sydney. But, being me, I felt it would look better with proper star trails above the city skyline. So, back I went recently to shoot that scene. So what we have here is a composite of 1) the wide city scene 2) the road and traffic trails 3) the buildings/skyline/star trails put together. I find it pleasing but would never hold this up as one of my more naturalistic images :-)

645Z with 28-45 lens.
